Two months ago we moved into our new house. We did it to be closer to the church and to the new school our kids were attending. No more driving 30 minutes each way, often several times a day. The savings in gas and time alone were going to be worth it.
What we didn’t realize was how much fuller our lives were going to be. Most weekends have been full of activity whether hiking and biking the trails that start at the end of our street or the laughter of teenagers playing video games in our family room.
We’ve had four parties for our two youngest. Two team dinners, an epic 18th birthday party, and something called a Galentines. My wife and I say it’s making up for lost time living so far away but it’s also having a bigger house so close to all of their friends.
We’ve felt more peace and contentment than we have in a long time and that is in the midst of four month filled with activities. I don’t place much on happiness but I’ve been more happy and relaxed than I have in a long time. As Jen and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary yesterday we were full of thankfulness to how much God has blessed us.
