Half Marathon Training Week 5

One Simple Word: Injury
Last Saturday I had a great run but later in the day (after my blog post) my right calf muscle started freezing up. By Sunday it was really tight and when I tried to run it out on Monday I paid the price. I rested all day Monday and went swimming Tuesday and then tried to run again on Wednesday. I actually had to call Jen to come pick me up because I couldn’t walk home.
So I have been resting it and treating it since then. Hopefully I will be back to it on Monday but we will see.
I kept telling my wife all week that I wanted to get out there and run. My prayer is that I am not to behind the ball to do this. I feel like I have the fitness level now I need the miles. I did do some cross training this week. Swam on Tuesday and rode my bike on Thursday. Both times were with the church staff which made it alot of fun.
