Beware of Sales

Data

My wife were shopping in an outlet store the other day and came across this unbelieveable sale. 50% off the price and then another 40% off of that price. Sounds like 90% but it more like 70% off. That is a good sale until you saw the price of the item. My wife was looking at a sweater with this sale and the price of the sweater was $65! First of all that sweater would never sell for that much. What we began to realize is that these massive reductions are really a hoax. Retailers are marking up thier items and then heavily discoutning them. The Drudge Report confirms this finding in a story here. What you get is an item for a little less than the real price. So beware of all the red signs that say 70% off. It probably isn't true.
