Weekend Reflections

This was a great weekend for The Village Chapel. It started off on Saturday morning with our prayers groups. They were packed and there was an expectation in our people. I always get jazzed when I look at the faces of people eating breakfast there as the two groups pass each other at our meeting room. all of them are like "What the heck is going on?"

After that I spent the rest of the day getting ready for Sunday services. With us being a portable there is so much to get ready and add on top of that betting ready for the baby to arrive in a week there was a lot of activity going on. Usually we like to lay low on Saturdays and just recharge but lately that has been such a challenge.

Sunday morning it was raining so that always puts our set up team into overdrive. I am amazed at how proactive they are in looking out for things. It is nice to have a group of people who you can trust so much. They really free me to connect with as many people as possible.

Once again our service was packed. I think I counted 130 adults and 40 kids. We are getting several new families each week and many of them are stepping up and volunteering to serve. Joe led our worship team from his drums this week which sent my son Caleb through the roof. He loves to worship and drums are his thing. We had several new people in the worship team this week and they are sounding better and better each time.

Finally I got a chance to lay out the vision of The Village Chapel today. I talked about Living The WORD and our four core values of Worship, Outreach, Relationships, and Discipleship. I also shared the big announcement with our church and it really set off a lot of people dreaming about what God could do. I am not going to share it here yet but in the next couple of weeks you’ll be hearing more about it.

Our group is really excited about Easter. If anyone knows where I can get a circus tent for our services that day let me know. The postcards are at the printer and we are ready to let every one know that The Village Chapel is open for business.

I am tired and ready for our new baby to come. Wednesday at 2:30pm.
